of evening meals. The pub itself was only built approx 15 years ago but is beautifully rustic (listen out for all the clocks chiming on the hour) and is well in keeping with the village. The meals are fantastic and very well extreamly well priced. Everything was freshly prepared and would defy anyone to say they could find a better prawn salad anywhere. Back to Thorpe Cottage, when we return to the area again we will be looking to book the cottage for our base." |

"We recently spent a week at Thorpe Cottage (26th June - 3rd July 2010) and can recommend the cottage to everyone. The cottage was clean and tidy and a lot bigger than we had imagined. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and drawers. The bathroom was very clean and tidy but we would have preferred a rubber non slip mat in the bath as it was quite slippery when taking a shower. The front room was light and airy with pleny of room to relax. It would have been nice to have more television channels but don't think that the area has gone digital yet. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but there wasn't a dishwasher. It was advertised with one but couldn't find it anywhere! The only other thing we felt would have been useful was a food strainer for pasta etc. Out and about the village was lovely and most 'locals' were very friendly. Although the pubs in the village looked very nice we opted to use the Cock & Pullet at Sheldon for a couple " |
